榕树是什么植物
榕树是属于桑科的一种乔木植物，它的树形高大，生长速度快，寿命很长，当榕树生长到一定程度的的时候，还会长出锈红色的气根，这些气根千丝万缕，像是垂柳一样婆娑多姿。榕树的气根依赖母树的营养，并且能吸收空气中是水分，不断的向下伸展，当气根的生长点触碰到地面之后，就会慢慢的生长出根系，最后就会长出一棵新的植株。榕树的这一特点，也造就了它可以独树成林的奇特景象。
榕树的枝叶繁茂，树冠开展，四季常青，具有很不错的观赏价值。它的适应性强，根系发达，抗风性也很强，并且还具有净化空气的作用，在园林绿化中的运用范围非常广泛，可以栽种在城市道路两边作为行道树，也可以栽种在学校和庭园中作为庭荫树，还可以栽种在公园和休闲游乐区域作为景观树。榕树的枝干崎岖，树影婆娑，还可以用来制作各种造型奇特的盆景观赏。
榕树这种植物一般都是采用扦插和压条的方法进行繁殖的，扦插繁殖的时间一般都是在雨季的时候进行，在扦插之前，先准备好扦插的土壤，一般选择土层肥厚，排水性比较好的沙质土壤进行扦插。在扦插的时候，选择一年生的嫩枝，修剪成长度在十公分左右的插穗，去掉插穗底部的叶片，保留插穗上半部分两三片叶片，然后把插穗插入土壤里面，每天喷水一到两次，提高空气中的湿度，大概在二十天左右榕树的插穗就可以陆续生根了，大概在四十五天左右，就可以移栽。
压条繁殖一般是在榕树附近放一个大花盆，在花盆中装入土壤，然后选择一个状态比较好的榕树侧枝，把它拉弯下来，埋入花盆中，在上面压上一个大石块，埋入土壤中的枝条很快就可以生根了，大概在两个月之后，就可以把它和母树分离，就可以形成一个新的盆栽植株。
